Dallas Sweet Dallas

It's amazing how many interesting areas there are around the downtown Dallas area. It's our favorite place to shoot.

Here is a glimpse into one of our recent engagement sessions...

Busy times

Omar and I have been really busy in launching the Wedding & Engagement part of our business. We're designing flush mount albums, creating ads for our current advertising ventures and just putting together really well-rounded packages that would leave any bride completely at ease knowing that she is getting the best of the best.

And because of this, I haven't had much computer time. Second computer - add that to our long list of "must-haves" for 2008.

But tonight, I did have a moment to work on images from a recent urban shoot. Here are a couple of my favorites...

We've got some very unique sessions lined up in the next few weeks, including a family shoot and several engagement shoots. Make sure to check back soon for glimpses into their collections.

the urban session

I'm working on a new and unique collection for my website -- the urban session. It's a work in progress and I'm still working to master the techniques of natural light and the beauty found in what at times are overlooked elements all around us. I've said this before but since starting photography, my eyes have opened up to acknowledge things that were once hidden in the darkness of everyday worries and things to do.

Here are a couple of shots from an urban session this past weekend. Cameron was a delight to work with. Not only is she a beauty, but guiding her through each frame was so effortless.

So, pieces of scrap metal and old, faded parking signs -- beautiful elements in everyday places...

More Color

Here's another that I just couldn't resist to share. What a mush!

and I am SO EXCITED that I can't contain it -- in late March, my friend Tina and I will be attending a workshop hosted by one of the most famous and successful children's photographers in the country, Brianna Graham! She has been an inspiration to me from the moment I laid eyes upon her images. I found out yesterday and I am still on cloud nine!

Color anyone?

I love black and white photography -- the candid feel of it is so alluring to me. But this weekend, my little doll and I went over to a dear friend's house and played with her new gorgeous green chair and blue wall. The colors were so vivid!

And after playing with so much color and experimenting with different textures, this is what I got! Enjoy..

and wow -- how can you say 'no' to a mushy face like this?

and I couldn't resist -- I just love how candid this moment is..

great friends...

The one thing that I love most about living in the Dallas area is all of the wonderful friends that we've made. They essentially are our families away from home. We celebrate with one another, share with eachother and help one another through any changes that life brings us -- good or bad. And we feel so blessed.

This next family is considered by us, The Guerra's, as great friends. We both share a love for photography and have girls that are only two months apart. We get together every so often for a family fun photoshoot and it's a win-win situation for both of our families. Last Friday we got together for our first indoor studio photoshoot. Here are some of my favorites...

And I wanted to share a couple that they took of us. They do beautiful work! I've been wanting a studio portrait of my family for a long time, and now I have the most perfect ones...

the good end of the deal

So Omar made a deal with me -- he cleans up while I blog his latest wedding pictures. And I think I walked away with the better end of the deal! I love doing this stuff and I hate to clean, although I'm an admitted neat freak.

Here is some of his latest work. This new venture of ours has just brought along so many learning opportunities. Our style is evolving especially with our wedding photography. Omar's work hits a more artistic point with every wedding we shoot.

The next ones are amazing. I loved them when I saw them. They truly define our style of capturing moments from your wedding day and turning them into pieces of art that you will cherish always.

Enjoy!
