the B's

Sometime way before the holidays (yes, I'm so behind!) I went on a photo shoot with a family very dear to my heart, the B's. They wanted an outdoor shot for their Christmas card, so I took them to some very nice local spots and to a new one that they were so gracious to share with me! Thank you B's!

So, here they are! This is the one they chose!

Happy Holidays!

the many faces of Amare

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of shooting the cover for Rio Kids Magazine's December/January issue. Amare was the winner of the magazines's cover model contest and she was a doll to work with! She gave us awesome material for the cover, and I wanted to share some of the cutest expressions we caught during the shoot. Enjoy!

Twilight

I've been neglecting my blog a bit and not posting session images as often as I would like. The reason for this? Twilight. I saw a t-shirt online today that best describes my obsession. It read the following on the front..."Yes, I'm a mom, yes, I read Twilight and of course I love Edward (but don't tell my husband)". It's so hilarious, but I'm so captivated by the series. I'm currently on the fourth book and about to finish. I can't wait to start reading the manuscript for Midnight Sun.

So today I vowed to get a blog out and here it is...

A few weeks ago, we had an awesome session with such a fun bride. Here is a glimpse into her magical gallery! Her dress is amazing! It's gorgeous and so unique! Enjoy! Lots more to come soon...if I manage to put my book down!

thank you

During our trip to Dallas this past Thanksgiving, our friend and fellow photographer, Joshua Cobbs, took pictures of our family. I cannot thank him enough for taking the time to do this for us. I just love them!

Happy Holidays!

We are all booked for 2008!

We are officially booked through the end of this year and we are now booking sessions starting in late January 2009. We've had such an amazing year and met so many wonderful families. It's kind of crazy how fast this year has flown by. We've been so blessed and are so grateful at the direction our business has taken. We are hopeful at what 2009 has in store for us! I'm excited at the new direction our children's side of the business will be taking, so keep an eye out for changes to our website in the next couple of months.

For now, I want to share with you a super fun session that I had with little Diego. We laughed the entire time! He is just so cute...

Blog Anniversary!

This month, we celebrated the one year anniversary of our new blog site. I took a few minutes to look through our past postings and all of the wonderful memories created by our awesome clients. In the past year, we've been through a logo change, a new branding look and the addition of weddings to our list of services. It's been a very exciting and rewarding year for us. And we are truly blessed to be able to do this. We've had close to 20,000 visitors to our site this year, 19,813 to be exact! And we wanted to thank everyone who drops to visit. We love to hear from you and read your comments. It is all very humbling. Thank you.

So on to our blog preview! I first met Abby during her maternity session earlier this year. We met Penny at her newborn session and last week, we saw her again for her six month photo session. I must say she is quite the cutie with beautiful eyes and a full set of lashes. I had so much fun capturing her! We even brought in my yorkie into the studio to help out. Penny just loved her! So here she is -- what a doll!

We'll be enjoying Thanksgiving in Dallas, cheering on the Cowboys! We have lots of previews coming up when we return -- including a very edgy bridal shoot and more fun families! Happy Thanksgiving to all!

The "Exquisite" Wedding

Tonight, I return back into the blog world! And I'm so relieved! It's been an eventful two weeks for us. My eyes had been bothering me for some time and it got to a point that could no longer go unnoticed. A visit to the doctor's office let me know that I had a corneal infection in both of my eyes, inflaming my corneas and causing extreme sensitivity to light. So I went two weeks with no eye makeup, no contact lenses and very limited editing time in front of my screen. As of Monday, my left eye was clear, and I only had one lesion in my right eye left to heal. And tomorrow, I get to wear contacts again! Yay!

I've been really anxious to get to work on the blog set from our last wedding of 2008. Taryn and Jonathan were another great couple we had the privilege to work with and so very much in love with one another. We have the best clients ever! Their wedding took place at the lush Quinta Mazatlan and was an exquisite event on every level. Taryn and Jonathan, thank you for letting us document your day. Here are glimpses of your wedding day, through our eyes...

Maternity Session

I had one of the sweetest maternity sessions last week with Imelda and Lucio. They are expecting their second little girl and were so excited to capture such a special time in their lives. They were referred to me by a high school friend's mom (thanks Leslie!), and it meant so much that they would trust me to capture this moment for them.

Imelda, here's your sneak peek...

the cutest puppy...

We've been having lots of fun with our family sessions now that Halloween is right around the corner. Mommies are bringing along the most adorable baby costumes I've seen for their sessions. Last week, we met baby Gavin and his super fun mom and dad. You can tell he is the light of their lives by the way he made their faces light up in happiness during the shoot.

So here's the cutest puppy costume yet! Enjoy!

The "Fall" Wedding

Last weekend, we had the privilege of shooting the wedding of Vanessa and Carlos. Vanessa booked us right at the on start of our photography venture and it meant so much to us that both she and Carlos trusted us to capture their wedding day. Omar and I knew this wedding was going to be so unique and fun to shoot. The colors were so rich and the setting at Rancho El Charco was so romantic. Not to mention that Vanessa and Carlos are two of the most genuinely nicest people you will ever meet and so in love with one another as well -- you can see the emotion just pouring out of the images.

They will be leaving on their honeymoon to Rome (I am so jealous by the way!) this coming week, so I wanted to make sure I got their blog set out to them before then. So here they are -- Vanessa and Carlos, deeply in love..

the "Fire Engine Red" Wedding

This month has been a whirlwind for us. We've met so many wonderful families and couples. We have three weddings in a row this month -- so far two down and one more to go before a much needed break in November. I must say that the weddings we've attended have been full of emotion and fun. I've shed tears at both and I'm sure there are more to come this coming weekend. Here is a glimpse at our first of three. Denisha and Art were so much fun to work with. We feel honored that they chose us to document such an important day for them. The wedding took place at South Padre Island and was filled with laugh, love and even a fire truck in honor of the groom. Art and Denisha, here are memories of your beautiful wedding -- through our eyes...
