We're on the cover!

I am so excited to share that our work is on the front cover of Rio Kids Magazine! For those who haven't seen a copy of this magazine around town, Rio Kids is a parenting resource magazine filled with parenting topics and the latest children's trends. I fell in love with it when I first saw one of their issues a couple of months ago.

This month, they are featuring a baby photo contest with an amazing prize package. Plus, the winner will be on the cover for their December/January issue!

You can find Rio Kids at pediatric offices, ob/gyn offices, hospitals, hotels, bookstores and boutiques throughout McAllen, Edinburg, Pharr, Mission, Weslaco and Mercedes. They are also now available at the Rio Grande Outlet Mall information center and within several of their children's clothing stores.

So pick up a copy and visit their website at www.riokidsmag.com and visit the Parent's Corner to upload your stories, pictures and submissions for the baby photo contest.

And here it is...

Edgy Engagement

Our photography is not for everyone -- and we are the first to admit it. Our photography can be very edgy at times, full of color and taken at very unique places. We want our clients to be completely happy and as excited about their photographs as we are. Such is the case with Vanessa and Luis. They are our first wedding for 2009 and this past weekend, Omar took them out for their engagement shoot. They chose the coolest colors for their wardrobe and Omar knew exactly where to take them to give them an edgy documentation of the love they share for one another.

I love the detail of their shadows in this one! So cool...

Studio Session

Last weekend, I had a really trendy studio session with little Miss Izzy. Grandma took advantage of our complimentary clothing consultations and selected some very stylish looks for her grandaughter. So here she is, in all of her cuteness!

Magical Door

This past weekend, I had a super fun session with an adorable brother-sister pair. They made me smile so much and I am so excited about how their images are turning out. Mom chose an urban session for their shoot, so I took them to some of my favorite spots. My most favorite, and you've seen it before, is this alley door. It must have something magical about it because it has never failed in giving me the most amazing and adorable poses out of the kids. And this session was no exception.

Both Lily and Diego were so full of life during the shoot and I got tons of images with huge smiles on their faces. Here are a few showing the more serious sides of both. For some reason, these images just drew me in so much. I love them! Enjoy!

October babies

A few weeks ago, I posted about the beautiful maternity of my sister. Today, I'm sharing a glimpse into the beautiful maternity of my sister-in-law. Both she and my sister are due only days apart. So that means lots of babies in the month of October for our family. We are so excited to meet our new nieces..

little ones

We've had so many little ones come to our studio these past few weeks and we have quite a few more in the following weeks to come. We've been working really hard to get our home studio re-modeled just the way we want it. We are close and I'm very excited at how it's turning out. I will post pictures soon to share with everyone.

Last week, little Wyatt visited my very unattractive studio for his newborn pictures. His parents were such sweethearts and were so patient as we waited for him to drift to sleep. I must say that it was worth the wait...

Stunning bride...

Last weekend, Vanessa gave us an opportunity to try out some of the lighting techniques that Omar learned at the Sallee seminar with her bridal pictures. We didn't know what to expect, but as we saw the images come to life in our cameras, we could hardly contain our excitement. And after a long week of waiting, we finally have a few to share with you.

So here she is, just as stunning as can be! Hope you love the vintage look...

Catching up..

I love to use the blog as a sharing tool for my clients. They get to see a sneak peek of what I'm seeing before they receive their entire collection. This past weekend, Mike and Julie were here for a very special maternity session. They were so comfortable with one another and made each pose seem effortless. I could see through my lens just how much they loved one another. So, Mike and Julie, here is your sneak peek. Thank you so much for allowing me to capture such an important moment in your lives. Julie, you look beautiful! Enjoy!

my urban beauty...

I must admit that I was feeling pretty jealous of my client's urban shoots -- I so wanted one for myself! So, I went to my favorite children's clothing store and picked out an outfit for my little Bella. It sat in her closet and even took a trip with us to Lake Travis last weekend. But with so much going on, I hadn't had the chance to take her on a mini photoshoot until this evening. We had about twenty minutes to work with before the sun went down. She was way more interested in playing with the rocks than looking at me, but I did manage to get some images that I just love! So here is my urban beauty...

Nadia, this is for you..

I had the most wonderful session this afternoon. My dear friend, Nadia, referred her twin sister and beautiful new niece to me for a newborn session. Rihana was such a sweetheart and slept the entire time. I had the time of my life photographing her. And what made this session even more special is that I will now be able to share these photos with Tia Nadia who lives in Dallas. I couldn't resist to work on just a couple. I'll have plenty more to preview in a few days for you. But for now, enjoy...
